Two-Factor Authentication

Last updated September 15, 2016

Two-Factor Authentication requires you to enter an authentication code from a verified device, in addition to your password, when signing into Onehub. This feature can be enabled by any user and/or can be enforced by account admins on the Business plan and above.

Enabling Two-Factor Authentication

You can enable two-factor authentication by clicking your "Settings" tab and selecting "Security" from the options on the right.

By default, you will be prompted to setup an authenticator app that will generate 6-digit authentication codes for you. Simply follow the instructions on the screen to download and install the app of your choice. If you would rather receive authentication codes via text message, click the “Authenticate Via SMS” button.

A mobile phone number is required as a backup, in case you lose access to your authenticator. So whether you choose to verify via authenticator app or SMS, the next screen will look similar to the one below. Enter your mobile phone number and click “Send Verification Code”. You will be sent a 6-digit verification code via SMS text message. Enter the code to verify your phone and enable two-factor authentication.

Enforcing Two-Factor Authentication

If you are an Administrator of an account on the Business plan or above, you can enforce two-factor authentication for all users who access your data. To enable this feature, click your "Account" tab and select "Security" from the options on the right. Click "Enforce Two-Factor Authentication" and hit "Save". All of your users will be notified about enforcement and will have 24 hours to enable two-factor authentication at their convenience. If they do not enable the feature within 24 hours, they will be required to enable two-factor authentication in order to access their account.

Disabling Two-Factor Authentication

You can disable two-factor authentication by clicking your "Settings" tab and selecting "Security" from the options on the right. Here you will see a "Disable" button.

Note: If your administrator has enforced two-factor authentication, you will not have this option.

FTP and Two-Factor Authentication

To access Onehub via FTP with Two-Factor Authentication enabled, simply append your 6-digit authentication code to the end of your password when signing in. Please note that FTP requires the use of an authenticator app and does not support authentication via SMS.
